Company History

Universal Utility Supply was founded on September 12, 1986.  Universal Utility Supply was established as an electrical distributor focusing on the electrical utility industry.  The company was originally located in St. Charles, Illinois.  Universal Utility Supply moved its location to the southern suburb of Orland Park in 2000.  Then in August of 2003, Universal Utility Supply was purchased by the current owners, and relocated to a more central location in West Chicago, Illinois.  The current ownership is 51% woman owned and operates under UUSCO of Illinois, Inc. dba Universal Utility Supply Company.

Over 20 years from the start, UUSCO is still focused primarily on the electric utility industry.  UUSCO's customers are Investor Owned Electric Utilities, Municipals, Co-Ops, Contractors, Research and Industrial Manufacturing Facilities.  UUSCO sells electrical equipment, material and supplies into three broad categories within the electric industry; transmission, distribution and generation.

Universal Utility Supply Company has a very experienced staff.  There are currently 9 employees at UUSCO, with a combined 170 years of experience in the electrical industry.  This experience is from many different backgrounds, including contracting, engineering, consulting, manufacturing, distributor.

Currently, UUSCO has an office, warehouse and outside storage yard in West Chicago, Illinois.  UUSCO is a stocking distributor and has inventory at its West Chicago location.  West Chicago, Illinois is a suburb of Chicago and is approximately 30 miles west of Chicago.  West Chicago is an ideal location due to the closeness to major highways.
